Hypnotherapy and Neurolinguistic Programming
Full (Professional) member of the NZ Association of Professional Hypnotherapists Inc.
I gained my training as a professional in the field of helping people through the Osmosis Academy of Hypnotherapy in Auckland and have been practicing in Wellington since 1993. The Osmosis Academy is recognised both nationally and internationally and it meets the same standards that have been put in place by the Hypnotherapy Guild in the USA. I have also had training in motivational interviewing for smoking cessation and have helped many people over the years with their addictions to smoking. I have a Second degree Reiki certificate. I have run many workshops ranging in topics that help people gain the skills they need for creative, positive change in their lives.
What is Hypnosis?
As a hypnotherapist I have been trained in the art of suggestion. Being in a state of Hypnosis is not the same as sleep. We are always learning, changing and adapting to new things and when you engage the use of active suggestion it becomes a powerful tool to help break habits and negative belief patterns that may have been stopping you from getting what you want in life. As soon as you begin to address the issues I will begin to work on how you see and feel about it and what you want instead.
What is NLP?
One of my counseling techniques that I use in my therapy I call NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It is a technique that enables you to understand how your language affects everything you do. It helps you to improve your language in the most powerful and positive way. This allows you to reprogram how you react to things. NLP helps you to get in touch with your emotional triggers more quickly. It enables you to cancel out negative emotional patterns and replace them with positive and beneficial emotional wisdom, on a deep, subconscious level. This allows you to move on and create a positive attitude toward yourself and your environment.
